My Golf Rounds 2026 | The Golf Hacks
My Golf Rounds 2026 is a running log of every round I play at Clandon Regis Golf Club in Surrey. I’m a member here with a WHS handicap index of 8.4, and I track each round to keep an honest record of where my game is at.
If you’re working on your own game alongside following the rounds, the putting training aids and swing trainers pages are worth a look — both cover the aids I rate most for club golfers at this level.
Order of Merit Medal 9/5/2026

A cold windy day, good company as always and a 9th place finish – net -3 was the winning score.
A counting score of 80 came off so my WHS Index goes up slightly to 8.3.
Seniors’ Stableford 11/5/2026

An absolute shocker today. Driver was too wayward and bunker play was poor! At least the bacon roll at the Halfway House was good!
A counting score of 83 came off so my WHS Index goes up slightly to 8.4.
Two Rounds in One Day Medal

One of our Majors of the season, playing two rounds in one day. The short game & putter came to my rescue in round 1 but couldn’t save the day in round 2. I probably struck the ball better in round 2 but the mistakes were costly. A very stiff back didn’t help matters.
WHS index now stands at 8.6
Mens’ Stableford

A very hot day, even with an 8.10am tee-time it was Scorchio! Definitely hitting the ball better and some of the fairways missed were just off into the first cut but the mistakes are too costly at the moment. Hopefully a very good round is just around the corner.
WHS index now stands at 8.9.

Medal Tournament – 2 rounds over 2 weekends

Well the good round WAS just around the corner – until I hit the 17th! A good tee shot but an unlucky bounce found me almost under the lip of the bunker and I took 3 shots to get out, ending in triple bogey. A similar story after my second into 18, although I got out of the bunker in one (just). A poor chip left me with a longish putt for bogey. Finished 11th, 6 shots off the lead – work to do in the next round.
WHS index now stands at 8.5.
Round 2 wasn’t very good with a Nett 74 and too many mistakes. Finished in 5th overall.
Clandon Regis Club Championships

The build up to the Club Championships at Clandon Regis was outstanding and included interviews with previous champions – take a look at mine here . The course was in great condition, with the greens rolling smooth and quick. It wasn’t to be a successful defence with the putter going cold in Round 1 and the driver letting me down (again) in Round 2. Congratulations to all the winners at the weekend.
WHS index now stands at 9.0
Weekend Medal Tournament

Another what could have been round. However, three penalties and a double on 16 meant nine over for four holes and one over for the rest. The course really needs some rain. While it’s great hitting drives over 300yds, the ball can bounce anywhere plus irons off the rock hard fairways need to be mistake free.
WHS index now stands at 9.1
